Sing Out For… Mental Health

A Groundbreaking Show!

The largest group of singers to ever grace the stage at Aylesbury’s iconic Waterside Theatre, Sing Out…For Mental Health is, at its heart, an uplifting show filled with music and stories of singers whose lives have been transformed by the joy & camaraderie of singing together.

Our Host - Andy Collins

Much-loved, television, radio & theatre personality Andy Collins, will join Community Choir champion, Jill Neenan, at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, to host Sing Out For … Mental Health.

Andy Collins is best known as the host of BBC1’s popular gardening show ‘Garden SOS”. It proved to be the perfect show for Andy’s warm, friendly and outgoing personality. He also hosted ITV1’s prime time show Family Fortunes following the footsteps of Bob Monkhouse, Max Bygraves and Les Denis.

Sing Out… For Mental Health

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see Community Choir Champion, Jill Neenan, bring hundreds of singers together for a night of inspiration & connection through music, for one night only at Aylesbury’s Waterside Theatre, fundraising for the critical
work done by MIND, LINDENGATE and SPACE.

MIND

Mind is our chosen National Charity.

Mind works to change minds across England and Wales by making mental health an everyday priority. By standing up to the injustices – in healthcare, in work, in law – which make life harder for those of us with mental health problems.

LINDENGATE

Lindengate is one of our chosen local charities.

Based in Wendover, Buckinghamshire Lindengate are a mental health charity that provides social and therapeutic horticulture in their 6 acre gardens to people of all ages.

SPACE

Space is our 2nd local charity.

Based in Aylesbury, Space support people who are going through relationship difficulties, depression, bereavement, unemployment, mental health problems, loneliness, or any combination of these issues.

All profits raised by Sing out for… Mental Health will be split evenly between our three chosen charities.

We work hard with our sponsors to ensure that all of the money raised by ticket sales goes directly to our charities.

Iconic Venue

The magnificent Aylesbury Waterside Theatre is a £47 million theatre in Aylesbury, Buckinghamsire. What you can expect is West End musicals, touring musicals, plays, opera, ballet, dance, comedy, children’s shows and of course Christmas pantomines.

An incredibly beautiful venue, both externally and internally, the acoustics are part of this beauty.  The venue uses the ‘Carmen electroacoustic enhancement system” which is allows for adjustments to bass for reverb customisations for symphonies and choral performances. The venue itself is a architectural landmark internationally.

The theatre draws in tourists from across the UK, and every season brings about a new brochure of vibrant shows in a one-of-a-kind venue.

Professional Music Direction and Special Guests!

Community choir champion & sought-after Soprano, Jill Neenan, will bring her choral ensemble, including over 200 adults & children, from The Wing & Wendover Community Choirs to perform alongside their 8-piece professional band, and some very special guests, providing an evening of uplifting music and song.

Repertoire

This special evening of music and song has something for everyone…

From pop pieces, musical theatre, and light classical it truly will be evening for all!

The balance between You Raise Me Up, You’ll Never Walk Alone, Electricity, Panis Angelicus and many more, showcases the varied talents and loves of our beautiful choirs.

From a very young age, I was encouraged by my Mum to raise money for charity. It started at the age of six with singing Christmas carols to the neighbours in aid of The Mayor’s Appeal. Since then, I have performed in and directed numerous concerts and shows throughout the UK, raising money for the MNDA, Macmillan, Florence Nightingale Hospice, ScanAppeal and many other charities and worthy causes.

As the Musical Director of both The Wing Singers and Wendover Singers award winning Community Choirs, I saw a great opportunity to combine both choirs to present a groundbreaking charity concert on the Aylesbury Waterside stage. I am passionate about the power of singing and how singing in a choir can improve mental health and ultimately change people’s lives!
